i'm playing stardew valley and it's okay. for a while i tried to, like, talk to people to form emotional bonds but then i remembered what kind of game i was playing and just started giving them two pizzas a week, and an extra on their birthdays.

both of the characters i've been advancing with have pizza as their favorite thing. it's kind of awkward.

(that's shane and sam, b/c like... idk the whole romance angle is so weird. how old is the pc anyway; how old are all these other characters given that they're all still living w/ their parents. i mean i realize this is a holdover from harvest moon which was just entirely handwaving about the whole age/relationships thing but it's kind of weird. mostly, look: i was like "all of these romanceable characters are young and chipper, where's the miserable asshole character who hates everyone that i can sympathize with". and then i realized that that character was shane. at first this was just kind of like, w/e i got him as my secret santa so i had to figure out what he wanted (he likes food btw) but then his first big we-have-bonded scene is him drinking alone at the lake pier talking about how he's incredibly depressed and miserable and he feels like his life has no direction or he's missed all his chances and it's just all going to be downhill forever. and i was like: YEAH OKAY I CAN BE FRIENDS W/ YOU. I'D ABSOLUTELY DATE YOU IF I COULD. I'LL HAVE TO SUFFICE FOR YOU MAILING ME RECIPES, since that's what the non-romanceable characters do to denote that yr friends. recipes and stolen goods from jojamart.)

(sam b/c it was him or sebastian and i still have no clue what sebastian actually likes since food and random weird dungeon loot isn't doing it. anyway.)

anyway. it's extremely harvest moon. i mean, obviously.

Yea it seems like a great game, but I dunno when I'll actually play it since I'm addicted to Devil Daggers (best in my friend's list. Crushing it... The #2 guy IN THE WORLD though is behind by 0.1 seconds. Wow what a choke-artist!) annnnnd SUPER HOT and LISA still need to get played.. and Book of Unwritten Tales.. and 8 other games I put in a category charitably named "Play these 10 next for real" taken from an enlarging pool of games categorized as "Play next."

Also I thought about it more and more and I while I can relate to the surprisingly large community of people/characters that hate the world and are cynical about it, I still prefer people who are at least somewhat social or at least uh... thoughtful... but that gets into a wild, wacky territory most floating on fantasy!

The way to a man's heart: Doubling up on that pizza delivery.
