the actually important thing here is that i have finally got (some form of) randomly-generated events actually placed on the map, ready to be interacted with. those are what the orbs are. except for one of the orbs; that's the pc.
i haven't hooked up the backend event code yet though, so it currently ignores all the information and just throws you into combat with a generic enemy if you try to activate any of those events.
