so i started playing hellpoint again and that got me thinking about my hazy outline for some hellpoint / dead space / doom / etc -inspired game and so now i'm picking at some javascript combat code again, in the style of hell game (it doesn't actually do anything yet, it's just basic ui + hooking things up to other things)
like i don't really want to be like "okay i'm working on hell game 2 now" or anything, b/c uhhh we all saw how hell game development went, but also it would be nice to work on something big and sprawling again. the real issue with this is that i already have a half-dozen major projects i'm "working on", making glacial progress with all of them, and adding another new big thing to the list would not actually make me produce anything faster. ideally i'd be able to just pick one thing and commit to it, but historically that has not exactly worked for me.
