in other other news, also, i'm doing ~barajam 2024~, and the thing i'm working on is that old ff7 golden saucer barret porn fangame. i'm revising the mechanical structure (again) and mostly just trying to get it less fragmentary by the end of november so i can finally have a second porn game release on itch. we'll see how that goes!
when i posted that scribblehub link here i was like, sure might as well post it somewhere, and i was kinda surprised by the steady stream of hits i got since then (scribblehub is big on analytics so there's constant reports of how many hits on which chapters from what sources in the author dashboard). it turns out multiple people are actually checking this blog. so i guess why not also link this thing here, even though i don't actually have anything new to post about it as of yet. expect an update at the end of november, i guess!
anyway here's some screenshots of the current code & content setup that i've posted elsewhere
i decided to replace the old litrpg-y level system with something more structured. 5 XP (new scenes) to level up, with scenes up to 1 level above your current level being available, and all content sorted into levels 1-10. some scenes might require multiple different level types; idk exactly how it all would shake out yet. some scenes would have extra bonus bits where you need higher levels to complete them, like e.g., taking a knot. most individual scenes might just be like, ~800 words each with bonus content maybe being up to an extra ~400 words. so, fairly short, which will probably be necessary given that the rough content outline (2nd screenshot) is like, 50+ scenes. we'll see how it goes.
also in case anybody is interested, i am looking for somebody to draw portrait images for this! in terms of priority it's like, profile shot for barret; multiple expression shots for barret (angry, stern, dazed, drooling, covered in cum, etc); simple portraits for various misc. human npc/encounter characters; simple portraits for various misc. nonhuman encounters (monsters, chocobos). but that's a bunch of work, so, probably it will just continue to be text-only porn games for me
