with all the talk about unprofitable social media sites i decided to finally bite the bullet and put $35 towards buying a paid account on dreamwidth. dreamwidth: the only profitable social media site!
if only they would update their post editor so people could upload images to their dreamwidth image cache directly while making a post. the usability is kind of a nightmare. like it's true that no other social media site has ever really reached the heights of livejournal-style self-administration (admin console options; communities actually being user-run; etc) uhhh there have been a lot of usability improvements in general since, you know, 1998.
