things i have found while excavating the ancient rubble-strewn trash room:

(it has been like this for two and a half years. it's the room below the bathroom and there was a leak, so it became a tarped-off construction room & then in the years afterward 1. the leak was never completely fixed so there's still a tiny dribble of water and 2. the rest of the house started piling misc. junk in there)

    • two plastic laundry hampers full of shoes
    • a box full of shoes
    • assorted bags, mostly leather, that might have all been in a box together at one point but are now strewn across the floor
    • a bag w/ a pair of shoes in it
    • two ikea fold-up bookshelves
    • two huge plastic bins full of dvds
    • a cardboard box full of shattered glass (like literally "shattered glass", not something previously whole that was broken)
    • a (broken?) vacuum cleaner
    • a weird pile of broken coathangers and metal rails

i mean and most of it is just boxes and boxes of clothes. there's one box full of really nice lace tablecloths. hopefully tomorrow i can go in there and get all the plastic sheeting + rubble out of there, & vacuum, sweep, and mop. so that i can start re-stacking all the boxes back in there, just, more neatly this time.
