i made some experimental cookies and they certainly turned out... experimentally...
(the recipe uses sour cream + baking soda as the rising agent and let's say i did a few things wrong. the end result was like, two sheets of cookies that had flattened nearly to a uniform covering, and then the final sheet was three perfectly formed perfectly raised cookies as if to spite me.)
oh well they still taste good. maybe i'll learn from my mistakes
