still writing sex scenes and still playing warframe

re: there not being much there in the game: this feeling still holds. like again, what this reminds me of is mostly PSO since it too has a gameflow based around "run through a randomly-generated map instance made up of preconstructed rooms". warframe is actually... like i've started trying to fill out my codex, which makes for a different kind of gameplay (you have to actively scan enemies to fill their codex slots; you need to do this multiple times in multiple runs to completely fill the codex with information; it counts as 2x scans if you scan an enemy that hasn't noticed you; also there are misc. objects in certain levels that you can scan to get certain materials and extracts). mostly it makes me think... like this game sure would be better if it had hidden depths.

they kind of make a big deal about the spy missions, which feature special segments where you're in a data vault map tile (aka preconstructed room) and rather than having a bunch of enemies to kill it has a bunch of traps and alarms and cameras (and sometimes one or two enemies), and the goal is to get to the data terminal at the center of the map tile and get data w/o getting an alarm. so there's a lot of stealth and sniping cameras and running through vents. but the rest of the map is the same "mow down everything that comes close to you" thing.

and due to the preconstructed rooms being pretty big and having a lot of connection points there are a bunch of cases where there are just, pretty vast tracts of the map (which afaik are trees; usually a degenerate tree that is completely linear save for endcap rooms) containing nothing but obligatory endcaps to attach to the far end of rooms that are placed. apparently with some of the max-rank treasure vision mods you can frequently see "off the edge of the map", into rooms that were placed that it's just not possible to reach with the current map layout.

but those things combined make me wish for, like... okay so the game doesn't really explain the codex at all, right? it's just like "hey here's some game information" and then it's like, oh almost none of it gets filled out automatically. so you have to see the codex scanner things in the shop and buy them; it's not really out of the way at all but it's not the "big popup telling people To Fill Out The Codex You Need To... the first time they open it up" handholding i'd expect.

just idk i think it'd be really neat to have a game that presents itself like warframe -- plotless and accumulation driven mostly -- but then goes all-in on the stealth aspect & properly lets you crawl through vents like, the entire way through a level if you want. and the 'reward' for fully scanning a thing would be deeper and deeper interactivity, like, scanning a bunch of plants unlocks a thing in the store that lets you interact w/ plants to extract items that are part of a whole separate crafting tree, or scanning mobs & bosses unlocking proper pso-style quests where characters will just be loitering around in the dead parts of levels, waiting to present the pc with cryptic dialog trees. that kind of thing.

but warframe is definitely not that game. OH WELL. MAYBE I'LL MAKE THAT MYSELF ONE DAY. AND SPEAKING OF:

still working on hell game. the sons of hamar-tabal sex scenes are... i guess i would say that the first stage is nearly done. the stages, i guess, go basically: a complete sex scene for every basic bodytype (bipedal, quadruped, centaur, snake, naga, wyvern, arachnid). then second stage would be editing them so that at least there are no direct contradictions with any possible character type (working in things like CUM TYPE or species variation or cock size), and third stage would be polishing it to rework nonsensical blocking for things like e.g., body size. so it's a lot of work. probably i could be doing it faster, though :V

i'm constantly trying to think of new encounters though. like just mechanically i need a certain number of combat encounters, and i really do not have enough yet. this is currently not the largest of my problems, so i've been working on the handful of encounters i've thought up, but... i really need more. a lot more! also i need to get the map generation placing events, but, well, "improve the map generator" is probably going to be a continual project.

the current encounter list is like...
    • sons of hamar-tabal (this is the only one even approaching being done)
    • clay men
    • lesser hellhound
    • sobek sheut (huge crocodile guy)
    • former ganzer soldiers (they are like scorpion-men mixed w/ living tac armor)
    • lesser black/white unicorn, probably

and then a long long list of 'maybe' encounters that all feel half-formed and not really all-there. i think i rly need more human-type demons, but i haven't really thought of any demon types aside from, like. "demon". i need better hooks.
