nanowrimo!!
this also counts as my gamedev reportback post (full text of post: i didn't do anything b/c i was doing nanowrimo) i guess.
so i succeeded at nanowrimo! 50k+ words total, 50k+ words on a single story, the whole thing.
my total wordcount for the month was 69k, with 63k words of that being for a single story. it had ~15k already written/outlined, so now its total length is like 79k words. that's a chunk of words! it still needs a lot more before it's done, though. i usually don't try to write, you know, long stories with actual plots, and so the thing with this is that it reminds me that "50k words is novel length" is more like, 50k words is solidly a novella, but actual novels are frequently, you know, six times as long as that. i'm hoping that when i actually finish this thing it'll be in the, you know, 100k-130k range just because that means i won't have too much left to write, but, uhh, we'll see.
anyway i have a lot to say about this thing i'm writing but it seems premature to say it all before i've actually posted any of the thing. i'm thinking i'll start posting chapters once a week on mondays, which should give me, you know, two months of buffer considering what i have already mostly-finished. i still need to finalize a few things. like, i am tempted to just sit on the thing until i have a complete draft and then start posting it but i think if i do that i might totally lose interest before it's completed. i kinda need some feedback.
anyway i uploaded a rough draft version of the first 5 chapters if people want to read it. it's about 24k words long and contains some very explicit gay turtle pornography.
if i were to, say, post this on ao3 i would tag it
